The Carol of Lights event each year is the undisputed favorite tradition of the Texas Tech University community. This event is attended by over 20,000 Tech students and local residents. The Carol of Lights® is one of Texas Tech's largest and oldest traditions. The event brings together both the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities during its ceremonies.

CLIMB WILL ROGERS & SOAPSUDS

The statue stands at 9'11" tall and weighs 3,200 pounds "Lovable Old Will Rogers on his favorite horse, 'Soapsuds,' riding into the Western sunset." But actually the horse and Will was turned 23 degrees to the east so the horse's posterior was facing in the direction of Texas A&M, one of the school's rivals.

TEXAS TECH HOLI FESTIVAL OF COLOR

This beautiful Indian festival comes once a year during the spring. Come and enjoy the music, dancing, and food. In the end, there is bright powder thrown at each other

GO TO A SALSA NIGHT BY HISPANIC STUDENT SOCIETY
$10 for 18-20, $5 for 21+
Don't miss out on a fun night dancing with your friends to the best Latino music currently. They will play your favorite salsa, bachata, Spanish pop, and reggaeton music. You won't want to miss a single one!

GO TO AN MGC SHOWCASE

If you are trying to find the sorority or fraternity that is perfect for you, go to the MGC showcase. Diverse fraternities and sororities get to present their history, their values, and a stroll at the end.

PALO DURO CANYON

Are you from a big city where the closest thing to hiking is going to a roof top of downtown? Check out Palo Duro with some friends and go hiking. It is only about 2 hours away.

BUFFALO SPRINGS LAKE

Is it super hot outside? Go to a man made lake that will not disappoint. Warning... don't forget a tent.. its SUNNY.

ALAMO DRAFT HOUSE

No this is not Top Golf, but basically it is. Check out 4ore with a group of friends even if you don't know how to play golf it is super fun.

Do you actually golf? Check out the Range it is a great place to hit some golf balls or release stress up to you.

PAINTING WITH A TWIST
$30 - $45 (depends what painting)
Are you an artist? Do you have no creativity? Doesn't matter go get wine drunk and paint with a group of friends and see your results.

BUDDY HOLLY CENTER
$5 college student admission
Do you know who Buddy Holly is? Do you know the history? Better run to this museum living in Lubbock because most things are centered around Buddy Holly. He is a legend.

MACKENZIE PARK

Have a fur ball? Take the pet to Mackenzie Park they'll enjoy it and so will you. Pack a picnic and grab your homework enjoy some fresh air.
